Thai Steak Salad and Thai Shrimp Salad

For our continuing contribution to your Thai journey, we introduce our Thai Steak and Thai Shrimp Salads! Our fresh Thai salad is a mixture of shredded Napa & red cabbages, snow peas, and green onions, along with freshly prepared Ramen noodles with dashes of fresh cilantro, basil, and mint, all tossed in a coconut Thai dressing. We add our signature pineapple pico, roasted chopped peanuts, grape tomatoes and teriyaki-grilled pineapple, then pile on your choice of spicy sauteed white shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico or hand cut steak, marinated in our spicy Thai sauce and char-grilled to order. Each unique salad is finished with a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds.

My friend took me out to eat here and I really enjoyed it--yum yum. Breakfast all day and great coffee--how can you go wrong? Also was a great work spot--a number of people were set up w/their laptops to get work done throughout the day.

I enjoyed my favorite breakfast EVER here today! I ordered the tofu scramble and was seriously blown away by how amazing it was! The savoriness and various textures made it melt in my mouth. I also ordered the blueberry tea which was incredible as well! Definitely a must-go.

ARTISAN DESSERT FEATURE

German Chocolate Fudge Torte

Our new dessert is a rich fudge filling in a cookie crust with a gooey layer of sweet coconut-pecan custard and topped with yet another layer of whipped ganache and garnished with whipped cream rosettes and toasted coconut flakes. Its flavor is reminiscent of the classic German Chocolate cake but even richer!

In 1957, a recipe for “German’s Chocolate Cake” appeared as the “Recipe of the Day” in The Dallas Morning News. It was created by Mrs. George Clay, a homemaker in Dallas. The name dates back to 1852, when an American baker named Samuel German created a type of sweet, dark, baking chocolate that was eventually used to make the classic layered German Chocolate cake. The name “German’s” was dropped later in favor of “German” and giving the false impression of the origin but it’s an all American invention. You can put June 11 on your reminder list because that is National German Chocolate Cake Day in America – but you can enjoy this special creation today at any Flying Star Cafe!

I went in with my husband and mother in law my mother in law got the Buddha bowl and forgot to mention she was allergic to mushrooms. The cook making it said no problem and made her one from scratch. The cook's name was Dan. He also came out to check on her and to make sure she enjoyed it. He was very friendly and a delight. We will be back again.
